Purpose
The primary purpose of the City of Aledo's Economic Development Department centers on the following areas:
- Coordination of business support services
- Increase local tax revenues through expansion of the community's economic base
- Job retention and creation
- Retention and recruitment of new industrial and commercial businesses
Responsibilities
This Economic Development Department is responsible for a broad array of economic development activities including:
- Development of a comprehensive plan to grow and strengthen the community of Aledo
- Oversight of various economic incentives including the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) and tax increment financing (TIF)
- Partner with various state agencies, regional business organizations and educational institutions to coordinate available funding, training and business services to insure that the local business community has access to resources that support continued growth and development.
- Promotion of available commercial and industrial space to the business and real estate communities
